درس كلية الفنون الجميلة بالقاهرة (قسم هندسة)   الديكور (1964)

في العام نفسه التحق بمجلة "صباح الخير" متدربا على التحرير والإخراج الصحفي  ثم محررا، فسكرتيرا مديرا  للتحرير بالإنابة

شارك في تحرير مجلة "الشباب العربي" منذ 1967

راسل بعض الصحف العربية من القاهرة

ساهم في إعداد بعض البرامج التليفزيونية

ساهم في "وكالة الصحافة العربية" من القاهرة في السبعينيات

كتب قصصأ للأطفال وشارك في تحرير مجلة الأطفال "حسن"

انتقل إلى لندن وساهم في تأسيس وتبويب مجلة "سيدتي"وتحريرها

كتب في صحيفة "العرب" اللندنية في بدايات إنطلاقها..ثم في منتصف الثمانينيات

ساهم بالتحرير في مجلة "الدستور" اللندنية

ساهم في إعداد وتقديم برامج ثقافية في إذاعة بي بي سي العربية

انتقل للعمل مراسلا صحفيا في الولايات المتحدة في عام 1988 من مقرهيئة الأمم المتحدة في نيويورك

عاد إلى لندن وساهم في تأسيس وتبويب وإنطلاق جريدة "القدس العربي منذ العام 1989

عمل مديرا للتحرير بمجلة "المشاهد السياسي"

 تولى رئاسة تحرير مجلة "أخبار العرب" اللندنية في التسعينيات

 عمل مراسلا ومديرا لمكاتب عدد من المجلات العربية. 

 كتب زاوية ثابتة في مجلة "صباح الخير" بعنوان "3 حكايات من لندن"

 وفي مجلة "سيدتي" بعنوان "معقول وغير معقول" 

 وفي "العرب" بعنوان "هواجس"

 أصدر كتابا بعنوان"سندريلا تتكلم "  عن سيرة حياة الفنانة سعاد حسني كما روتها له

راسل وكتب المقال والتحقيق والحوار السياسي، لصحيفة "الدستور" المصرية  

تولى رئاسة تحرير المجلة الالكترونية الأسبوعية لشبكة بي بي سي العربية على  الانترنت

 Monir Metawa 

 An Egyptian writer and journalist living in London since the eighties. 

 Worked in journalism since was a student in "Al-Masaa" newspaper, the radio magazine, the children's magazine "Karawan" and the newspaper "Al-Haqaiq" and others. 

Studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo (Department of Interior Design (1964).

Joined "Sabah Al-Khair" magazine as a trainee in editing and journalistic production in 1964 as an editor, then as secretary and acting editor-in-chief.

Co- editing "Al-Shabab Al-Arabi" magazine since 1967. Corresponded with some Arab newspapers from Cairo.

Contributed to the Arab Press Agency from Cairo in the seventies.  Wrote stories for children and co- editing the children's magazine "Hassan". 

Moved to London and contributed to establishing and organizing "Sayidati" magazine. 

Wrote in the London newspaper "Al-Arab" in the early days of its launch, then in the mid-eighties.  Contributed to editing in the London-based "Al-Dustour" magazine.  Contributed to preparing and presenting cultural programs on BBC Arabic Radio. 

 Moved to work as a journalist correspondent in the United States in 1988 from the United Nations headquarters in New York.

 Returned to London and contributed to the establishment, classification and launch of "Al-Quds Al-Arabi" newspaper since 1989.  Worked as managing editor of "Al-Mushahid Al-Siyasi" magazine. 

Assumed the editorship of the London-based "Akhbar Al-Arab" magazine in the nineties.  Worked as a correspondent and office manager for a number of Arab magazines. Wrote a regular column in "Sabah Al-Khair" magazine entitled 3 Tales from London" and in "Sayidaty" magazine.

Published 2001 a book entitled "Cinderella Speaks" the biography of the artist Soad Hosni, based on interviews and conversations with the artist herself. 

Worked as a correspondent for "Al-Dustour" newspaper, contributing articles, investigations and political dialogues.

 Edited the electronic newsletter of the BBC Arabic network on the Internet.
